The Best Caribbean Island

End of summer is so close and soon days will shorten and it will become colder. Well, maybe not everywhere… I have decided to introduce you with the best Caribbean island. Actually I am going to show you three Caribbean islands, and leave you decide which is the best Caribbean island at your opinion.

1. Barbados

Barbados is a small island country in the Caribbean Sea. The island has 166 square miles and it is mostly flat, with some hills inland. We all know Barbados can offer a crystal clear water and beautiful beaches, but Barbados can be proud of his historical heritage. If you are there don’t forget to visit Arlington House, Garrison Drill Hall, George Washington House (George Washington visited Barbados in 1750 before he became the first president of the United State), Harrison Cave, Holetown.
Barbados cuisine is a mix of old and new, a blend of Caribbean, African and European influence. People here often get together and have fish or meat barbeque. Don’t forget to try traditional dishes such as cou-cou, rice and peas, and a great selection of fruits and vegetables. Barbados is a birthplace of rum, which was first made 370 years ago from the sugar cane. You can’t afford to miss rum shops.

Accommodation on Barbados shouldn’t be a problem, and all depend of what you have in mind. 2. Grand Cayman

Our second best Caribbean island is Grand Cayman. Grand Cayman is the largest of the Cayman Islands and the location of the capital of George Town. The island is 22 miles long and 8 miles wide. The Seven Mile Beach is the most famous beach in the Grand Cayman with his white sand and crystal clear water.
When you get tired of the sun and the beach go to shopping. George Town can offer you everything from luxury shops with brands such as Gucci, Versace, Prada, to small privately owned craft shops with great gifts.
Culinary experience at Grand Cayman is unbelievable. There is a wide range of restaurants, from upscale restaurants to small family restaurants and fast food. Of course sea food takes main place, but try local dishes such as oxtail, stewed turtle and salt beef with beans.

3. Dominican Republic

Third in the line of the best Caribbean island is Dominican Republic. Although Dominican Republic is not an island by itself we decided to include it in our story, mostly because it is the most visited destination in the Caribbean. The island is called Hispaniola and it is divided by two countries Dominican Republic on one side and Haiti on the other.
Dominican Republic is home of warm people, beautiful beaches and great food. This is the country with fantastic history, museum and festivals, also known for its chocolate, rum and cigars. Dominican Republic is number 1 destination if you are passionate golfer offering many golf courses.
